Description
The Crypt occupies most of Level 5 and can be subdivided in several sections:
- The north, west and east areas of the level are connected via fake walls.
- The Hall of Dead is westwards.
- The Dwarven Hall and The Way of Our Ancestors are eastwards.
- To the south, the Black Crypt and Dungeon Crypt of Amber are connected but only accessible from stairs and pits on other levels.
How to get there
- The main access is via the Dwarven Hall stairs from the Mines leading into The Way of Our Ancestors.
- It is also possible to fall through grates in the Sewers into the central area of the crypt
Interests
Vecna The Lich
Vecna (+1 Competition point) is indeed killable, though ultra though. The best way to kill her is to stand in front of her and bash her with Maces (axes seems useless), as magic will be thrown back to the party.
A known bug seems to affect you by the Curse Of Vecna even after killing her. It is triggered by walking in front of Vecna's corridor. The curse may be cured in The Temple. The Bones of the Cartographer can be found here, as the Vampiric Starvation spell (
(ZO VEN SAR)) (+1 Competition point), a monk staff, and the password for the map of the level. Vecna holds the Funeral Mace (+1 Competition point).
