I've only tested that once so far, but I think you don't have to actually carry the competition scroll in order to have it count points, you just may not lose it, so that you can read the result later on. I have especially not tested what happens if you store it on another level than the one where you perform an action that should give points, I just put it on the floor before earning a point, which was recorded. --CHF 14:39, 5 November 2012 (CET)

The scroll specifically tells you to keep it with you when you first pick it up, there for Zyx intended for you to carry it for the Competion. You risk breaking game mechanics it by not carrying it. I fail to see why this is an issue.
