Description

The Pit of Ephesus is an enigmatic room with 4 colonnades in the middle surrounding a pit that disappears from view when approached.

How to get there

• A party visiting the Path of the Beast from the area inhabited by the Followers of Heraclitus of Ephesus can trigger a small button that opens the door leading to the pit entrance.
• There is a 4-alcove pillar in the Mildew Area right beside a fake wall that links to the pit.

Interests

• This room is guarded by 4 Shambling Mounds.
• There is a unique Funereal Rapier “ Fleshbite Sustained” behind a gate on the eastern wall.
• It requires 4 guild items (a Corbum, a Mace, a Shuriken and a Staff) to unlock yet it is worth the investment: it is a fast weapon laced with poison damage that hits hard on all monsters. Unlike other funereal weapons, there is no side effect to its use.

The pit itself drops the party down a couple of levels to the Sewers.
