Conflux/Places/Three Fights for Freedom

This T junction is accessed in a couatl infested area by falling from a pit at {8,31,5} in the Emerald Level. The party must face 3 challenges from monsters before it can escape:

• the southern pad triggers the apparition of an oitu
• the northern pad triggers the apparition of 4 efreets.
• the western pad makes 4 demons appear and it is therefore best left for last, to allow the party to retreat without getting cornered by the other monsters.

Once all monsters a defeated, the unique Shield of Lyte (“The Immaculate”) can be retrieved from an alcove and a teleport haze sends the party back to the level above.
