This T junction is accessed in a couatl infested area by falling from a pit at {8,31,5} in the Emerald Level. The party must face 3 challenges from monsters before it can escape:
- the southern pad triggers the apparition of an oitu
- the northern pad triggers the apparition of 4 efreets.
- the western pad makes 4 demons appear and it is therefore best left for last, to allow the party to retreat without getting cornered by the other monsters.
Once all monsters are defeated, the unique Shield of Lyte (“The Immaculate”) can be retrieved from an alcove and a teleport haze sends the party back to the level above.
